FAQ
Questions couples actually ask.
Booking, travel, what's included, and what happens if something unexpected comes up.
Booking
- Most Saturdays book 8 to 12 months out. Peak season (May, June, September, October) goes faster. Send your date and we'll tell you straight whether it's open.
- Everything runs through Honeybook with a written contract. A retainer holds your date. Balance is due before the event. Card and bank transfer accepted.
- Always. We start with a 20-minute call, and we'll meet in person or on video before any contract is signed.
- Date changes are common with weddings. We rebook to your new date if we have it open, no fee. If we don't, your retainer transfers toward a future date within 18 months.
Service area + travel
- Yes. We serve a 250-mile radius from downtown Kansas City, covering most of Missouri and Kansas plus parts of Iowa, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.
- Travel within 60 miles of downtown KC is included. Beyond that we add a small per-mile fee. We'll quote it up front, no surprises.
- Yes, within our 250-mile radius. For weddings further out, contact us. We can usually make it work with more lead time.
What's included
- DJ and MC for the contracted hours, premium sound, two wireless mics, dance-floor lighting, a music planning portal where you build must-play and never-play lists, full setup and teardown, and a pre-event consultation.
- Yes. Ceremony audio is included when both happen at the same venue. Different venues includes a second setup.
- Yes. Every BB Events DJ also MCs unless you've hired your own. We handle the timeline, announcements, and crowd direction.
- You build the list. Your music portal lets you mark must-plays, do-not-plays, and your wedding party intros. We program around your choices.
Operations + safety
- Yes. We carry liability insurance and can name your venue as additional insured. Required for most premium venues in the KC metro.
- We keep a substitute DJ on standby for every booked weekend. Your music portal is shared across the team, so the backup walks in already knowing your plan.
- Always. Backup mics, backup mixer, backup laptop, redundant playlists on a thumb drive. We've never had a wedding lose sound and we don't plan to start.
